- What the heck does that have to do with racism? Burris was appointed illegally and improperly and that doesn't have anything to do with his race. BTW I'm mixed race.

- Passenger pigeons. Giant ground sloth. But I remember some years ago the Canadian woods bison had been declared critically endangered, maybe extinct, until a huge herd of them wandered out of the woods. dwarfed mammoths and mastodons, naturally dwarfed because of living on islands.

- There's one more case I should tell you about. This time the victim was my next-door-neighbor. One evening about nine o'clock I heard her approaching my back door; then she turned back and ran through some bushes back toward her house. Although I did not then know it, she had just been raped.

- When I was a police officer, we had one predator who was committing rape after rape--all were acquaintance rape. We knew he was doing it; the judge who had presided over his one trial knew he was doing it; but we couldn't prove it--until one day he raped a woman who had nothing left to lose.
